ABOUT US
Our little cycling club started the way all good things do—with a group text. It was late 2020, COVID was still around, and Tyler had just moved to North Bend from the city. Wanting to explore the valley by bike and meet local riders, he sent out a message: coffee, a ride—gravel, singletrack, whatever the day allowed. By late-2021, a small group of dedicated folks were riding weekly. Monday mornings worked best—before work, rain or shine, and always with coffee first. Getting up at 6 a.m. to ride in 40-degree sideways rain isn’t easy—but you never regret it. Welcome to Case of the Mondays.
The mix of exploration, friendship, group “accountability” (read: shaming), and the challenge of improvement kept us coming back. Misery loves company, and the crew kept growing. Coffee options got better, and Arete became our home base. We added new bikes, new routes, and gear to take on the elements. Weekend rides in good weather? Sure, but that’s the easy part.
It took a while to define, but we always knew COTM was something more. It’s about using bikes to explore, connect, build community, and empower each other. That spirit still leads the way.
The Timeline
2021 - The Case of the Mondays group text is born.
2022 - Arête became our home base. New faces joined. More, and bigger rides happened!
2023 - We found our groove and convinced even more to ride when it’s cold, dark, and wet.
2024 - Things got official with a Strava Club, Instagram, and custom Rapha Kits. Arête Wednesday night rides blew up and silly rides like the Rapha ÜberFAR and FULL LOOP ride were tackled. Femmes was launched! We leaped over the barriers and into CX racing and conquered the Festive 500.
2025 - We turned it up to 11 with a leadership team, ride leaders, and a new website! We’re racing all over the country and have got some fantastic rides planned with amazing partners. We can’t wait for the rest of 2025 and beyond!
History
To explore limits, stay adventurous, and build a community where all cyclists feel welcome.
Mission
Case of the Mondays (COTM) is a club where all cyclists can find their place. Come share our love of adventure, explore new routes, grow your skills and bike knowledge, and get inspired to push your limits.
We are community-focused and partner with cyclists and businesses to support the Snoqualmie Valley and the wider cycling community.
We ride, whatever the weather, and we like to keep it weird.
VISION
Inclusivity & Respect: COTM is for everyone. We welcome cyclists of all abilities, backgrounds, ages, genders, and disciplines. With respect at our core, we honor each other, the land we ride on, and the communities we engage with, maintaining zero tolerance for discrimination, hate, or harassment.
Community Collaboration: We support each other and the wider Snoqualmie Valley community by building partnerships, creating opportunities for cyclists to come together, and making a positive impact.
Fun: Cycling should be an enjoyable and expressive experience. COTM embraces individuality and the unique characters of our community. Whether it's skinsuits or daisy dukes, all styles are welcome.
Adventure: We foster a spirit of exploration, encouraging cyclists to discover new routes, challenge their limits, and embrace the “it's rideable” mentality. All bikes are good bikes and we want cyclists to bring what they’ve got. Underbiking is in our blood.
Rider Growth: We all have skills to develop and skills to share. Whether you’re the fastest, the slowest, the newbie or the most experienced, COTM empowers cyclists to achieve personal bests, build skills, and lift each other up through shared learning.
Values
Be respectful (to other cyclists, cars, & people we see while riding).
Be safe (ride using your best judgement and don’t put others at risk).
Wear a helmet (duh).
Be prepared (with food, water, tools, and supplies to deal with mechanicals).
Know where you’re going (if there’s an official route, download it onto your bike computer).
Have fun and support each other!
